league tables for:
The Mowatt Cup was the gift of Godfrey Mowatt to inaugurate the league in 1923. It is currently awarded to the winners of division 1, the league champions.
Until 1933 the cup was the only one in use in the league, and was awarded to the league champions.
In 1938 the Gregory Cup was introduced as the second trophy of the league, and was awarded to the best performance over 10 boards. The Mowatt Cup still retained its status as the league champions' cup, and went to the best performance over 6 boards.
The names of the joint winners for 1938–9 do not appear on the cup. Evidently the outbreak of the Second World War disrupted the usual arrangements for engraving it.
From 1939 to 1967 the league did not operate. From 1955 the cup was used as a trophy for the SCCA annual jamboree.
When the league was reconstituted in 1967 the cup was returned, and was once again the trophy awarded to the league champions.
