Please note that this year’s congress is being
played on a separate date to the juniors and will be played in the downstairs
meeting rooms only.
Subsequently entries are limited.
So please enter early to avoid disappointment.
We have made the decision to reduce the size of
our tournament this year for organisational and resource reasons.
The Sussex Junior Chess tournament has grown significantly
in size and will take place the week before this event using the whole centre.

Team Prizes Best Club team will win chocolates Sum of best 3 scores from either section
Trophies The Joe Berberich Cup will be awarded to the Championship winner. The Albany Cup will be
awarded to the highest placed member of Crowborough Chess Club. In a tie, sum of progressives will be used to determine trophy winners but cash prizes will be split.
Rating Prizes Rating Bands will be based upon entries and announced before the start of Round 3
Tournament Rules FIDE Rapidplay Rules
apply. This is a registered ECF Game Fee event. Results will be sent to the ECF
for Rapidplay Rating.
Rating used will be first
of ; 1. ECF OTB Rapidplay Rating 2. ECF OTB Standard Rating 3. FIDE Rating
Ratings designated as (P)artial will be disregarded and treated as unrated. Unrated players cannot
win rating prizes.
Competitors can win one cash prize only and prizes will be allocated as the Tournament Director
deems appropriate. The Tournament Organiser reserves the right to refuse entry without explanation. The organisers reserve
the right to adjust the format and prizes depending upon number of entries. The decision of the
Tournament Organiser will be
final.
