Mid Sussex AGM
The MSCL AGM will be held at Lewes Chess Club on Tuesday 26th June 2018 at 7.45pm

St Mary’s Supporters Club Christie Road Lewes, Sussex BN7 1PLAs usual the Committee welcome proposals for rule changes and I need to receive these by Saturday 26th May in order to provide time for the committee to review and clarify, if necessary, in advance of the AGM.
Please ensure that any proposals take full account of the existing rules and identify clearly the modifications, additions and removals which are required to give effect to the intended change. Please also provide a clear and succinct rationale which can be published with the proposal. The agenda will be circulated at least 14 days before the AGM and will include any rule change proposals accepted for inclusion.

Data Protection - The New Rules
The ECF has issued their guidance on The General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) which comes into force on the 25th of May

The GDPR applies to all clubs and counties as separate organisations, regardless of their size. Further information is available on the website of the Information Commissioner’s Office at ICO - GDPR
Some of the major points to be considered by club officials are as follows, but the full document should be carefully considered:
Emails should not be sent to groups of people in a way that makes their email addresses visible. To avoid this, either use a mailshot program or blind copy (bcc) all the recipients.
Not all clubs and counties will need to register with the ICO but you can check on your particular circumstances at - ICO - self assessment.
Data should only be held with "Legitimate Interests"
Websites may need to display Privacy Notices

The 12th Weald Chess Congress will take place 14th and 15th of July 2018 at Copthorne, near Crawley, Sussex. The venue is spacious and conveniently located just off the M23
It will be a 5 round Swiss in 4 sections: Open, Major (U175), Intermediate (U140) and Minor (U110)
The prize fund is £1,750

Please check that the fixtures for your team are correct and convenient. You can reschedule matches with the agreement of your opponents up to 28 days prior to the originally scheduled date for matches scheduled to be played in December or later.
Fixtures for the Knock-Out and Rapid League are still being formulated
The club pages show details of each club in the league. If you spot any errors, please let me know. The following clubs have made changes and their pages have been updated for the new season:

The rules have been updated - see Rules pages. They may also be found in the download section in pdf format.
There are no changes to the league rules, but the Knock-out has an update and the Rapid rules are brand new, last season having been something of a trial run.
